Pressure: Why does losing her virginity become an important issue for her? Who pressures her? How much pressure is she putting on her self? For example she says that people were "always" telling her that it's normal to be a virgin at 16 but she still feels pressure. What pressures do boys feel about this issue?

Timing: Near the start of the story the author writes "I didn't know what the right time was.." How does someone know when "the right time" is? Is there a right time and a right person? She acknowledges the prospect of having sex terrified her so it's safe to say she was wise in waiting. But how will she know when the time and person are right?
